Spain has significantly updated its student visa regulations for 2025, with major changes taking effect May 20, 2025. To succeed with your Spain student visa application in 2025, proper preparation is essential. Start the process early—ideally 3-6 months before your program begins. 

  1. The Student Visa processing timeline has been restructured. Applications require submission at least 2 months.
  2. Spanish Health insurance must be valid from at least 1 month before the start of studies until 15 days after the end of the studies, or for one year if the duration of the studies is longer than one year.   3. Course fee payment proof is Mandatory – Students must now provide proof of having paid registration and enrollment fees to their Spanish educational institution. Contact us for finding suitable Study Programs in Spain.
  4. Bank Statement of last 6 months – Just the bank certificate is not enough! Now the students have to submit the bank statement of last 6 months too. In case of Sponsorship, the bank statement of the Sponsor’s bank account.
  5. Sponsorship (Full Financial responsibility for at least €600 per month for room and board) – The study program and the living expenses can be sponsored by: Mother / Father / Sister / Brother / Aunt / Uncle / Father-in-law / Mother-in-law.
  6. Sponsorship letter – A notarized letter from the parents or legal guardians confirming full financial responsibility for the applicant, guaranteeing a minimum of €600 per month to cover living expenses. Suggested wording: “I hereby declare that I am the (father/mother/legal guardian) of (…), and I undertake to provide financial support of at least €600 per month during his/her stay in Spain. I also accept full financial responsibility for any unforeseen emergencies that may occur.” This letter must be accompanied by the parents’ or guardians’ bank statements and the applicant’s birth certificate.

  2. Recent Color Photograph – A RECENT passport-size, in color, with a light background, taken from the front, without dark glasses, reflections, or clothing that hides the oval of the face. Do not paste/staple the photo in the form.
  3. Valid Passport: with at least 2 blank pages and valid for at least 1 year from the day of arrival to Spain.

  1. Apostilling & Sworn Translation into Spanish: Below you have a list of documents which are needed to be apostilled first and then translated into Spanish by a Sworn Native Spanish translator:
    • Police Clearance Certificate – Issued by Passport Seva Kendra.
    • Previous academic certificates – Diploma, Degree & Marksheet / Transcript of 10th, 12th, Bachelors, Masters degree.
    • Medical certificate stating you don’t have diseases affecting public health. WhatsApp us for the Medical Certificate Format. The certificate must have been issued within 90 days prior to the visa application, and must include a doctor’s signature and stamp/letterhead.

Travel Insurance – Minimum Coverage: At least €30,000 for emergency medical expenses. Duration: 15 days from the day of travel. Coverage Area: All member states of the Schengen Area. Additional Coverage: Repatriation for medical reasons, urgent health attention, emergency hospital treatment, or death.
